# Track work units

> Log production output by cost code, type, and level for a contractor on your jobsite

Work unit trackers let you record production output for a contractor by cost code, type, and level. Foremen and superintendents use these to document what was built or installed each day, supporting progress tracking and cost reporting.

  <Step title="Start a new work unit tracker">
    Navigate to **Logs**, select **+Add**, then select **Work Unit Tracker**. Choose the **Date**, **Jobsite**, and **Contractor**, then click **Continue**.

  <Step title="Log work units">
    Populate the **Work Units**, **Cost Code**, **Type**, and **Level** fields. Add any relevant notes.
