# Jobsite logs

> Understand how logs work in Odin and the types of logs available for your jobsite

A log is a structured record of something that happened on your jobsite, such as work performed, an inspection completed, or a safety concern observed. In Odin, logs are how your team captures these records digitally so they're standardized, searchable, and tied to the jobsite where they happened.

## Types of logs

Odin provides two categories of logs:

* **Daily progress logs** — used by superintendents and foremen to document labor, work performed, and production output. These support coordination, billing, and claims. See [track daily progress](/report-and-communicate/track-daily-progress) for available log types.
* **Safety logs** — used by safety managers and field crews to document hazards, incidents, inspections, and pre-task planning. These support compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement. See [document safety](/report-and-communicate/document-safety) for available log types.

The log types available for your jobsite are configured by your CSM on the [Odin support](/support/customer-support) team.

## Create a log

Navigate to **Logs** in the main navigation, select **+Add**, and choose the log type. Select the **Jobsite** and any other required details, then click **Continue** to open the log form.
